I know that heavy feeling, when you want to dream big and write small…
when you’re tired of chasing trends and gripping the back of bandwagons.
When you want to write books with hooks +
when you want to build blogs like beavers build dams +
when you want to create smashing graphics that grip corneas +
when you want to disengage the email list building addiction
so you can spoon feed your book habit with pages + paperweights…
Leaving Frantic for Focus.
I get it. I do. You want to make the world a better place +
you don’t want lungs’ air to go to waste +
you want to craft unique imprints on communities face +
you’re wading through Pinterest but’d rather be wading through the creek with your
imagination out on a limb while you trip tryin’ to catch the kids +
you want to roll in your creative bowl without feeling outside pressures
to become someone you’re not supposed to live life as…
And you want to be healthy in your body, in your mind but
you keep sitting and sifting and not getting anywhere +
you refuse to stop because your mama didn’t teach you that way
so you’re starting to feel a bit overwhelmed from the lack of stopping and the lack of going +
giving up on all the things make sense except the tugging in your heart won’t let you drop the mic
so you show up at this blog because you’re stuck and need a lift.
Sift through the drift and find my hand pulling you up. A friend who’s
walked a mile in those shoes knows about those bloody scars you
hide under socks.
So take ’em off and just retreat
leave frantic behind
go bare feet.
This was a Five Minute Friday piece. You are welcome to join us & smash some words.
