How to live when you’re waiting…
Car pulled out. I waved and grinned. I love my new season for them and for myself. I finally get to clean the toilet and scoop the cat box and clean out closets without feeling drained, or forgetting altogether, honestly.
Sitting down at my computer, I begin to do what the day’s agenda entails. Wifi not working. Well, looks like the day may look different huh?
I have lost my cool enough times before to know it’s not fun and usually things end up working out in the long run. Picking up my phone I dial my husband and we try to get things worked out and see what the problem is.
While this goes on, I live my life and decide not to speak negative words filled with anger and freak-outs. Because hey, I am supposed to be writing. I am supposed to be getting things done here.
So I dry my hair and balance the checkbook and get ready for the day while I wait.
Smile not fading.
And not too long after the green light is on and things are back to normal.
Speaking helpful words or no words at all, especially in a time of “rawr” is always best. I am just glad today I lived out what I know to be true.
This was a five minute free write hosted by Kate Motaung of fiveminutefriday.com. We are given a word prompt each week and we run with it like there’s no tomorrow. It is fun, freeing, and less fancy. Take off your heels (if you wear them) and go barefoot with us friend. Our word this week was: SPEAK. The // indicate where the timer began & ended. –#fmfparty link up here–
