The candle was burning into the night at times, other days we were in bed on time but sleep escaped so I caved to the notion that arising at 3 am to work might make having to get up with the puppy a little less, er um–irritating. My patience has been tested this past month but it was by choice. Obi Wan is a good pup, we’ve just never gone through so many puppy pads and paper towel rolls in our lives.
Now almost a month later, he’s come a long way, but we thought, “What have we done?” for those first couple of weeks.
The adventures continue long after the corners of many a book have been chewed, shoelaces and purse straps look like they’ve been blended for fine dining, and a myriad of other combinations of mutilation you can think of.
Homework has been on the rise and the weather on the fritz, all the while I found a state passed a further heart-breaking law and yet–I am still led to pray more and talk less about it, which is different than I used to live. I used to think if we didn’t talk about it, it was bad–and maybe it’s partially true, but I dare say I won’t go back to before. Peace, I want You. I won’t let go!
So here I am, this fine Monday night, not all scheduled up like usual. I am here to say–sometimes life is messy and always our every day, sincere prayers + best can be offered up to our Creator. We can trust that even when we’re super tired, God is still energized, being his perfect self. I know that sounds so simple and nonspiritual, but it’s true.
In closing, I want to thank all the new #TeaAndWord members. I see a few new link ups and also want to compliment how lovely everyone’s work is. I wish I had tome to read them ALL, but I still haven’t figured out a way to do that. Maybe one day.
For now, I wake up and write, edit, share what I can, make food for people and pets, clean, repeat, and do lots of homework with kids. You all know. It’s not new! And each of us is living our gift of life, full of twists and turns and ups and downs. Just know I am humbled every day of my life, for where I am, and to know you.
Keep up the faith, and know I check my Instagram account in the fringes of my day to connect with readers and writers. It’s almost easier than email nowadays, but that’s a story for another day. ^_^
PS…if you anre’t signed up for the #TeaAndWord Writer Newsletter, do so before tonight. It’s going out soon and this one is full of more humor + awesome gold nuggets.
