Coarsely ground coffee kerplunked as it hit the bottom of the glass. The smell was strong and my nose was happy. I followed my friend’s directions, pouring the right amount of coffee with the right amount of water in the French press. 3 tablespoons for uh, some water (shhhh…I eyeballed it). It took a few times of practicing before I didn’t need to think about what I was doing, but brewing coffee this way tastes so much better. And really, it takes just as long to wait on the machine to do it, so why not enjoy the process? I love old school things, and experiencing the way things feel. If you are into this sort of thing, be your own barista and whip up your coffee manually. Don’t knock it ’til you try it. Trust me.
