It was chilly and wet.
We made the hour and a half trip to my husband’s doctor appointment. Honestly, it was a tough day. Afterwards, before jumping back on the highway back home, we made a last minute decision to stop in and visit this wonderful place called Lost River Cave. I never knew it existed, much less within driving distance.
We didn’t have time to enjoy all it offered, but what we did see — I wanted to share with you. The gift shop was charming, filled with affordable and unique attire by small, local shops. There were candles of every kind, handmade decor, most of it able to purchase right off their trees and walls.
At the front desk, the workers are ready to book you for a boat trip where a tour guide takes you on the “Lost River” inside of a cave. They gave us coupons for $2 off per child for future reference. The actual price is affordable at only $15 per adult. Less for children.
You can walk on the trails outside and let the little ones romp and pretend at Eagle’s Nest, or put on a play at Thistle Theater. If you are up for it, head over to the zip lines. This is not all there is at Lost River Cave. We are excited to go back one day and experience the rest.
