Treehouse Family Vacation at Timber Ridge Outpost
Back-country vacationing is our cup of tea.
We pulled up to our treehouse, the biggest one which comfortably accommodated our family of five, and immediately laughed. The first thing everyone got addicted to was the round swing hanging below the house. In the video it doesn’t look like freaky, but it is a long rope. You swing over the little creek next the house. It’s simply epic.
The kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with pots and pans, utensils and any other thing you may need like soap and towels. All you bring is your clothes, food, and yourSELF. We enjoyed our stay here during the spring of 2016. It is definitely a place the kids loved and still talk about. We will probably be going back one day.
Timber Ridge Outpost is within Shawnee National Forest in Illinois. They offer winter discounts and are also pet friendly. Check out the bottom of this article for more reasons to stay in a treehouse for your next vacation.
PS: You will get lots of exercise walking around the land. AND up and down your treehouse stairs!
