A 31 day journal for the easily overstimulated humans.
(Because we exist, and we desire to live well. Not just hide well.)
The Dwelling Place has always existed, though I have not always visited.
- It is the place we go when we can’t just go.
- It is the place where we meet with Holy Spirit.
- It is the place where we are stilled.
- It is the place which gives us a moment’s peace.
- It is the place we live from.
Less escaping. More embracing.
Never closed for the season. Never overbooked.
Never not prepared for our arrival.
Always welcomes with open arms.
This place is not a thing but a face.
our Dwelling Place.

| Day #10
“Where are you, Stubborn Paper?”
I rush about. I dig. My heart beat picks up a bit.
“I know it was here not far, recently.”
But my mind knows better than to think
worse case scenarios at 11pm.
2 to 1 and we still haven’t laid eyes
on a document needed for a job interview.
We’ve been here before.
Worries get ya nowhere fast.
I drop to my knees without regard for anyone’s opinion.
“I’m going to bed. I need sleep. But I love you, Father…
…and if that paper exists somewhere close-by can you reveal it?”
I listen. Almost instantly an image of a folder appears.
“I remember it was in a folder!”
I head towards the garage door and just as my hand
touches the knob,
my head bends left and I remember the wire basket that fell down.
We set it aside. It held a folder.
Folder held document.
God holds me.
He proves this continually.
He holds you too.
1 Samuel 3:10 ERV
“Samuel said, “Speak. I am your servant, and I am listening.”
***Join me each October day for the #write31days event (learn more here) for a gentle fleshing out of the thoughts, as I seek to share journal-style + by poetry, past experiences with anxiety and learning how to live and thrive after discovering about ptsd.
Let’s lean into Truth together.
Let’s trust God moment by moment.
