We just recently talked about the importance of consistent writing and I got to thinking how since I have been blogging regularly for the past 1 1/2 years – I have “met” some amazing writers across the globe.
One of these women happens to be Susan Chamberlain Shipe, author of 10 books! She has been one of those women in my writing life who has spurred me along through her faithfulness and encouraged me to keep to God’s path for my life, listening to him over the blare of the world.
Susan’s consistent blogging and book-writing have inspired me and I want to share with you today a book review of her latest.
52 Commands of Jesus for Children by Susan Chamberlain Shipe
Having been a homeschool parent for four years and being actively involved in children’s ministry over the years, I was excited to have this book in hand.
There’s nothing like a scripture-rich tool which breaks down life application quite simply, yet allows so much room to dig deeper.
If you are over little kids at all, you know their attention spans wane back and forth between excited to hear and excited to get up and run circles around you.
Susan’s book starts off each weekly devotion with a scripture focus (one of the 52 commands of Jesus) and has four points with adjoining questions.
All scripture is taken from The New Living Translation which happens to be very meaningful to me because it was the first translation I read which God used to help me understand his word better.
This large paperback book is a great value for it’s price at 12.99. Click here to read my full Amazon book review. Don’t go away yet. Enter to win a free book!
